The United States will become increasingly irrelevant when it comes to energy considering the newfound affection we have acquired for fossil fuels. Not only is China investing more in renewable sources but India seems on track to do much of the same. India will have no lack of impetus to do so when you consider the fact that they will soon eclipse the USA when it comes to energy demand.

I have a question. To clarify, I understand why it is considered special treatment to allow trans people to use certain bathrooms or be concerned about pronouns...but, why is allowing gays to marry considered special treatment? Is it because of the past expected ways of treating homosexuality? What about the Roman and Greek empires, where homosexuality was common and celebrated? I guess I don't understand the logic behind that statement exactly.
