The forum is fine, you just need to change the URL. Strip out the unnecessary parts, i.e. feature=player_embedded.

Occupy Wall Street: NYPD Orders Officers Not To Interfere With Press

http://www.huffingto..._n_1111232.html

The New York Police Department's commissioner on Wednesday sent an internal message to officers ordering them not to unreasonably interfere with media access during news coverage and warning those who do will be subject to disciplinary action, after several journalists were arrested covering Occupy Wall Street demonstrations last week.

Sure, but how does one obtain a press pass? How can the various blogs online cover these protests and not risk "unreasonable interference"? In a social network age, we're all journalists. All of us. They need to stop interfering, period.

This police officer has been wanted in connection with an incalculable amount of pepper spray assaults for some time.

they sit outside white house and US capitol hill, every day, its DC occupy movement, if you expect everyone to go to DC, can you imagine 150 000 ppl camped out in Washington DC, lol,

What I think you'll see is movement gradually becoming more proactive closer the presidential elections, than you'll see all sorts of dirty politicians coming out of the woodwork vying for OWS votes, and atm OWS as 55% support among US public.

Give a take stronger stance by OWS we can see major political reforms and concessions closer to the elections.

One thing I'd love to see is Liberman getting arsekicked out of the Senate and his pals who paid him to sit and represent their interest, man is a pure evil.

It was pretty revolutionary when some states in America said that a tent is a form of free speech. It is pretty obvious now, as who else would camp out during winter with only a tiny tent protecting them from the elements, than someone who does not fully believe in their cause.

Been quite on this front for a few days huh? OWS is pretty much over, I guess, and will now implement themselves deeper into politics and unions. Although, it will be difficult to know who is part of OWS inside politics. Some members don't like that idea anyway. BTW. Here's an interesting story.

Ex-Occupier Now Works on Wall Street:

New York (CNN) -- The occupiers of Wall Street have been portrayed by some as radicals, young kids without focus, ne'er-do-wells who'd do anything but get a job. But one woman used her time in at Zuccotti Park differently, and as a result she has gone from Occupy Wall Street to occupying an actual office on Wall Street.

I guess the movement helped some people out after all :bye:

Meh... its winter now in the northeast. The problem that these protests are all about hasn't gone away (indeed, with these new internet regs in the pipeline, it might actually soon be getting worse). You'll be seeing tents in New York once again come March or April. And there will be more crackdowns. And the tents will come back. And they'll be evicted again. And more will come back. Who knows, come November, if the authorities have enough protesters in prison, the GOP might even win the election.

Occupy Wall Street will indeed be getting involved in politics - in many ways, politics are moving toward them. President Obama seems to be moving closer to making class warfare (galvanize what's left of the middle class with the poor against the rich) a battle plan for 2012, while the Republican party seems to be moving toward a strategy of attempting to align the middle class with the rich against the poor. It'll be a question of who the middle class will believe is really looking out for their interests (or, alternatively, who can raise enough money to put together enough advertising to dupe the middle class into voting for them anyway).

Russian gov is hilarious. Protesters decided that they'll protest on Victory Square... So few hours later it turned out that Victory Square is off-limits, because they're starting major overhaul there. LOL.
Putin and his friend got too sure of themselves. Shameless in-your-face election rigging ain't cool and it's easy way to piss of people.

indeed, shameless to the extreme, democracy in Russia is a sham, always has been. Even Gorbachev is calling for recount, as he belives the recent local elections where sham. putin has made Russia intolerable for anyone who opposes his dogma.

After OWS a few questions:

Because everywhere people are declaring that the movement is over i want to ask simple questions on here that have not been touched yet.

Despite the lies of police brutality and how "evil" pepper spray is. How is it even remotely possible that the hundreds of thousands of protesters were brought down by relatively small police forces?

How could these same police forces without guns break up the crowds so easily?

In light of the crackdowns you would think their "army" would come together support one another and fight for their right to stay there. right? are you telling me that they couldn't even fight small policemen without complaining about pepper spray or brutality? That's like the US Army complaining that it's hot in the Iraqi desert. What would happen when they fought against the "evil" bankers then? this goes back the the fact that they were disorganized from the start. Anything to disrupt them would cause chaos.

Why did they surrender so easily?
