It's dangerous to be right, when your government is wrong.
They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I will not conform my space posts to this thread. (there are not enough posts on this forum!)

Anyway, i will gladly talk in this thread about things that do not warrant their own thread.

The logical choice is Alpha Centauri, but we have barnards star, wolf 359, lalande 2215.

We also have Sirius, Tau Ceti and Epsilon Eridani at a little bit further distances.

and yes I agree Alpha it is, or Beta, :D

I think, especially as we grow, it might be worth re-thinking how this news section works... a lot of threads do get posted and solicit no or low responses, amalgamating certain topics into collective news threads like those stickied at the top of this forum might be the way to go...

I'll be posting all space news in this thread, anyone wishing to add space news here is free to do so, I just like ll my space news in one place where i can read them all at leisure and can go back to if i want to research stuff. This is how I did on SSC, knew every post on Space thread i've made, was easy for me to find anything relevant and go back if needed to.

Agreed. I've pinned it.

Hope you don't mind, but I renamed it too. :)

Europe to lead daring Sun mission

Europe is to lead the most ambitious space mission ever undertaken to study the behaviour of the Sun.

It's really good how this probe which is expected to launch in 2017 and the first one to get really close to our sun than any other probe/satellite.

I think you might have misinterpreted the article slightly. It’s saying that the water that the comet contains is the most ‘earth like’ we’ve found, not that the comet contains more water than is on the Earth...
