General figures can be accepted in summarizing the global mass of the human civilization. That they've trippled in 50 years is now in little doubt, the magnitude of the issue though can hardly been done justice i would say.

There are very few jobs at the moment, we can see where capitalism will take us, few with mega wealth and many with the few jobs and even more with no form of paying the core bills at all. Food, housing...etc

Are technology and education enough to maintain a decent level of standard living for all 12 billion of us?

That is a lot of red in Africa. That is definitely going to be a problem, judging by how small the current population of most countries there is minuscule compared to that 0f 2100. Life expectancy looks really good though (even better if you follow this site :preved: ).

Overall, a really cool infograph.

According to UN studies the global population will peek around 9 billion around 2050 and then start to decline. When it starts rising it wont reach 9 billion again until about 2300. Affluence and fertility are inversely related. Our problem isn't over crowding, but an aging population. Japan has already started shrinking. Of course the world changes so fast this is subject to change dramatically.
