Nokia has more up its sleeve than WP7 and Microsoft. It is already thinking ten years in advanced. With a smartphone that can twist, turn, and respond by bending and twisting it.

Called the Nokia Kinetic, you can even play and stop music, call, and use email while your phone is in your pocket.

Doesn't sound like they are actually thinking too clearly, 10 years is a looong time for development, if you look back at what was available 10 years ago, and given that it was still an emerging market back then, this sounds a little.... meh... Don't get me wrong, flexible phones would be something for the future but I'm thinking more like 5 years...?
All right, brain. You don't like me and I don't like you, but let's just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer.

Who knows though, it might take a long time to develop. We've only seen prototypes and the technology is probably really expensive before committing to the consumer market. Same reason we are not getting E-paper yet. i know LG is working on it,

This stuff is already in the press for this year and 2012: http://www.telegraph...ed-in-2012.html http://www.upi.com/S...12981304546423/ OK, so these may not all be genuine, but I don't think that this technology is that far round the corner :)

Why would I want to bend or twist my phone?

This sounds silly, but you'd like to keep your phone/tablet in pocket, hmm? unfold it 2-3 times and it's screen is 8 times larger. you can use it as a phone, but once you need bigger screen...

What is true, just, and beautiful is not determined by popular vote. The masses everywhere are ignorant, short-sighted, motivated by envy, and easy to fool. Democratic politicians must appeal to these masses in order to be elected. Whoever is the best demagogue will win. Almost by necessity, then, democracy will lead to the perversion of truth, justice and beauty. -Hans Hermann Hoppe
