Who would win?

In math class at my school this morning, we had a discussion... "Who would win in a fight, the North American Grizzly or the Silverback Gorilla?"

This debate has spread to outside classes and we even got the football coach and the dean to express their opinions. But we are still pretty much stuck at a 50/50.

My personal opinion is the Silverback Gorilla would win in a close fight.

What do you guys think?

A really big Silverback might be 200 kilos. A really big Grizzly might be 600 kilos. Plus the fact that the Grizzly has a better snout for biting as well as claws makes me think the Grizzly would win fairly well, although it might take some time and be a bit beaten and exhausted afterward.

It's dangerous to be right, when your government is wrong.
They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Grizzly all the way. Gorilla can deliver strong punches, maybe a painful bite, but bear would tear it into pieces.
"I walk alone and do no evil, having only a few wishes, just like an elephant in the forest."

"Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Weep, and you weep alone."

Never bet against the bear.

Yeah, no contest. Bear.
My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world. - Jack Layton - 1950 - 2011
