This was originally planned for 2016, but then got cancelled.

However, the project now appears to have been revived.

Titanic II replica will set sail in 2018

Feb 11th 2016 2:32PM

Projected to set sail in 2018, the Titanic II will be nearly an exact replica of the famous ship which sunk after in collided with a glacier in 1912.

The 21st century iteration will stay true to the original, save for the "modern evacuation procedures, satellite controls, digital navigation and radar systems," according to James McDonald, the global marketing director of Blue Star Line, the company recreating the ship.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the radar failed and it hit an iceberg again?

Wouldn't it be ironic if the radar failed and it hit an iceberg again?

Wouldn't it be ironic if the radar failed and it hit the same iceberg as the first one?

And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future.

And the main character will be based on Leonardo Decaprio who tragically was onboard Titanic 2

“If the genius of invention were to reveal to-morrow the secret of immortality, of eternal beauty and youth, for which all humanity is aching, the same inexorable agents which prevent a mass from changing suddenly its velocity would likewise resist the force of the new knowledge until time gradually modifies human thought.”

He faked his own death, reinvented himself, and plays the captain in the movie getting rave reviews and a nomination for an Oscar..... which is then won by the actor who was playing Leonardo Dicaprio in the movie.

Plot twist: In the far future leonardo di caprio uses his fortune to become the first transhuman. He invents time travel setting up a closed timelike curve to transform himself into the original iceberg setting his fate in motion. He remains in iceberg form until after Titanic II goes down then rescues himself from hypothermia and explains the plan to his younger self
