In this short story, the former leader of the "meat"(a.k.a people are rushing technology to quickly!) party lives in a futuristic society in the mid 21st century where technology has evolved so quickly that robots are vastly more intelligent than people. In this future, most people spend almost all their time in virtual reality machines (though "meats" don't) while the robots and a few "ascended"(immortal, and made more intelligent) people govern from space. This former leader is visited by his ex-wife and an android who gives him the offer of becoming "ascended" if he convinces the rest of the "meat" party to stop their rebellion and go on space missions to different parts of the galaxy. What are your thoughts on this kind of future occurring and what do you think the likelihood of it occurring is?
