What will happen to this site in the future? I'm sure I'll get all kinds of answers.

Think about the various eras; 2030s, 2040s, 2050s, etc.

Honestly, nothing much. Just the same as any small online community on the interwebs. People will come and go and post links and scream at each other. Eventually wjfox will die (for real) or get bored of the site and move on. Sometime later the site will crash, and some of us will migrate to other communities. And that's it.

I think Wjfox will have to charge it a few dozen times to meet the realities of wars, fascism and the reality that tech just won't advance nearly as fast. Really what physics are we developing that tells anyone that we will advance faster in the next 40 years then the 20th century???

Maybe he'll realize that advancements are going to be far slower and put things further into the future.

If the site dies I promise to make a multiverse scape reviving it circa 2073.

If every forum member gave Wjfox their life savings how rich do think he'd be? I'm putting my bets in 2-3 million mark.

Why would I want virtual reality just to check the weather or post on a forum?

I think having a presence in the future metaverse would fit futuretimeline.net. Imagine having one of our discussions on the surface of titan or on the top floor of an arcology overlooking the Himalayas. The website would become much more than just a place to talk with like minded people; I could see us making art and having a laugh over some future form of entertainment together.

That would only make sense if we had discussions in real time though! :)

The actual forum could be put on giant discussion board that takes up the side of a wall in the main room or something. With the the rest of the site being more like a virtual chill spot for everyone. Once VR and the metaverse becomes more widespread we should all take up blender and build the site together. Something like JanusVR but much more mature and user friendly.
