Really surprised how little coverage this particular story has been getting in the media considering how big a disaster this is becoming. For those who are unaware over the last 2 days a series of fires has popped up on the northern end of the San Francisco Bay Area and last night high winds propelled many fires into multiple communities in the area proper and the fires are becoming an increasingly large threat to the rest of the San Francisco area. Thousands of structures have been destroyed and at least 4 killed and 100 injured so far with many feared missing. Toxic smoke and ash is falling all over the city of San Francisco causing major air quality problems for millions with no end in sight. Could be one of the worst wildfire disasters in American history.
Fires are currently burning in the city of Santa Rosa, in the Napa area and a new fire even closer to San Francisco has recently been reported and winds are pushing many of the fires south-east towards the city.
