Hello, I am Mr Dusk.

I'm here to discuss the future and share my own vision of it. I had an account in the past but I've forgotten the password to the associated email address. So I'm not really new here but it's a new account so potato potata.

One thing you may notice is that I don't see the near future or the far one as some happy thing full of light and humanities glory. Cause hooooooo buy it is going to get a lot worse before anyone can even really thing of enquiring if it will ever get better.

Don't be mistaken into thinking though that I think AI will be inherently malevolent or any fearmongering like that. Far from it. I see a far more depressing future ahead than what could be conjured by simply a murderous piece of software killing everyone instead of long and drawn out suffering for all of mankind by the very social structures we have created.

My views will likely change over time as will my predictions. Thats simply how it goes when looking ahead. You gotta integrate any new data you find.

But enough about me. I'm off to post and comment.

Welcome.  May this be the dawn of your participation in this forum.

The principles of justice define an appropriate path between dogmatism and intolerance on the one side, and a reductionism which regards religion and morality as mere preferences on the other.   - John Rawls

Welcome! We make our future in the present and hopefully it will follow Will's timeline.

I doubt it will entirely follow Wills timeline, but that's just me. Maybe it will, maybe it wont.

I dont know about you but I see a lot of overoptimistic users on this forum who could use some pessimism

I mean older and wiser.

It's why I keep disowning my timelines and starting from scratch.

do you have a TLDR of that? I found it a bit hard to follow and figure out the exact point you were trying to make

well at least finish them before you move on. the timelines in themselves are good reads and I always hate it when a work goes unfinished
