How many technic societies did Greer study to plot this? :p

Looks about right, assuming we will find an efficient means of extracting other forms of energy.

What does "salvage society" mean?
I make an animated series about time travel and the future of humanity called ExoTemporal Excursion. You'll like it. If you're into that sort of thing. I also draw.

Harvesting energy from multiple sources like part coal, part solar and part wind?

ok that makes sense. I thought it might have meant "salvaging the ruins of modern society for some semblance of a successful life."

That's exactly what it means.

Does Greer's Stages of Technic Societies take into account the possibility of obtaining natural resources from outside this planet? If we find a way to make He3 a ready-able energy source, and start mining the moon, doesn't that throw off his timeline?

You are thinking three-dimensionally, unlike the pessimists who think in two.
What are you without the sum of your parts?
