So the other day in the sauna we had this discussions. We were arguing about who cheats more in a relationship- is it more men or women?
I was quite impressed to see that from many recent social-psycological studies it emerged that women are less faithfull then men.
I would like to see what other pepole thing about this in this forum.
My opionion is that men are slightly less faithfull then women for both cultural and biological reasons.
Share your opinion on this. I am intrested to know what other peple thinks.

Yeah I don't see how gender has anything to do with it.
That study could have been bias towards a gender for any number of reasons, ratio of males to females, personality of each, age, location etc

Interesting you might see that women are unfaithful mainly by two reasons, either they're sluts in their very nature or they're attracted and seduced by a man. Arguably, to the extent women are faithful it's mostly a matter of lack of opportunities or to uphold some aura of being "faithful" because it is "a must". A man on the other hand is if ever faithful, due to the lack of opportunities or actually being in to someone, this does not apply to women.

I don't understand your logic there. sexual desire and hormones work in very different ways in men and women, so it follows that there's every reason one might be more faithful on average than the other.

Probably depending on culture a lot.

I would claim that in countries like Italy, France, Spain and perhaps Austria, there is a culture of virility in male unfaithfulness. In countries like the USA, Sweden and Canada, it is probably more equal, partially due to cultural reasons, partially due to the fact that females in general are a part of the labour market in a more direct way and thus aren't dependent on a male provider.
