I believe that debate about the future will increase in society in the next 15-20 years. This will make this site more visible and more members will join to this site. what do you guys think?

I think it is very unlikely this site will exist in 2030. I doubt it will exist in 2020 even.

By 2030, either this site will have had evolved into something very different OR a new futurist site appeared somewhere else we all migrated to.

I am much more optimistic about this site. It will become even greater with new technology and members will drastically increase in the years to come. I will also contribute as much as I can to spread the voice about it and to involve other people into the future debate. It is going to be fantastic.

this forum has a certain feel to it, and the members are pretty well integrated and so for now, it looks as though it's going to last. It'd be interesting to hear what Will has to say about it, but considering the size, detail and wonder of the FT, I think that it's going to be hear in a decade. Two even.

I think I get his drift. He is an admin, so his job is to cut down pointless things and ad's. This conversation contributing almost nothing to the advancement of technology, will lead to more pointlessness. So he will kill himself if this continues. Am I right WJFOX?

Ha ha, oh my! This thread is hilarious already!

I plan on kinda floating around this site for the foreseeable future. 2030 is a ways off, but maybe. As long as everyone keeps posting interesting links I'll keep coming for the news, like I do now.

I think that website may be VERY popular, like 10000 active members.

This website may give inspiration to live longer, to show how trends at current acceleration rates will be moving us. (predicting future is like predicting space flight with lots of unexpected gravity perturbations).

It may give inspiration to lots of mod makers, who are making future-themed game mods.
Is this Superman? Is this Gandalf? Is this Mewto? No its 25th century average citizen in early 21st century!

Any technology sufficiently advanced is indistinguishable from magic.

Yeah it seems like this website is future proof. Go figure. I've always wondered if someone like Ray Kurzweil posts here, but he just uses another user name.

Although I am pretty sure that he doesn't post here (mainly because he has his own site) I wouldn't be surprised if he has read the website. Anyone looking for future technology on Google is likely to find this website.

Hopefully more people get interested in the future of technology rather than being surprised about the future when the next iPhone comes out.

well of course modification will occur...i think we may have virtual rooms by then..and us users may be in a luxury room where we talk and interact with each-other talking about the future..
we may look at this forum with nostalgy.

You know, it would be kind of cool to have this "forum" when VR emerges. We could create avatars of ourselves and talk, like, well really talk as if it were in person. That would be great - you can share much more information in much less time when you are actually talking, rather than writing - the downside being your memory and attention-span - so you forget things you talked about - which by then will maybe be enhanced, so there's to that....

"All scientific advancement due to intellegence overcoming, compensating, for limitations. Can't carry a load, so invent wheel. Can't catch food, so invent spear. Limitations. No limitations, no advancement. No advancement, culture stagnates. Works other way too. Advancement before culture is ready. Disastrous."

There's definitely truth in that...
