I've notice a great deal of this happening lately. Specifically with concern for my health causing me problems I'm house bound for periods of time and spend it trying to learn things about this so called autoimmune disease.

What I've seen in the last few years was a trend but the more I dig into it the worse it looks.

In my case, I've seen in the last two week no less than thirteen independent studies that suggest that inflammatory bowel conditions are being caused and maintained by certain proteins (usually in the IL- 1 to 13 range) and the regulation of macrophages in response to bacterial invaders. The invaders seem to not only be unharmed by but to actually use the response to their benefit.

Meanwhile the medical community is still running with the premiss that the problem is my immune system and they need to drug me with steroids and immunosupressants.

I've not seen anything in the last seven months talking about the immune system being the culprit anymore. In fact studies now are being done that look at the gut flora of those that get the conditions and the proteins being formed and comparing them to base line and then testing the various strains that differ to see what effect they have.

And they are finding a lot of data. There are several proteins and bacteria native to some people tracts that regulate immune responses in very specialist ways. and doing further study has shown that by targeting certain pathogenic bacteria, and then boosting or inserting other beneficial bacteria can actually cause remission of symptoms. The delicate balances are likely still beyond they to get exactly right just yet... but seriously this is huge.

It sounds like they've cracked the truth on this. Soooo... why is it that the focus is still on 'autoimmune' suppression and heavy duty chemical symptom intervention?

Oh that seems to be because the bacterias and their secretions that could cause remission and healing and protection from relapse, CAN'T BE PATENTED. And because most of them can actually be found in dirt. THERE'S NO PROFIT IN IT. In fact I found out that there was a passive form of E. coli discovered around World War 1 that can cause remission in 31% cases for periods of years, and it can actually be cultured and passed to new people from 'infected people'. Or you could before the supplement was banned from the US by the FDA because it's effective and living, thus it should fall under the realm of pharmacueticals and not supplementaion and probiotics.

Or the TB vaccine that has huge benefits for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, and the US doesn't use it because TB isn't common enough to bother and it makes cheapest most common form of TB screening give false posatives.

Actually their lack of creativity is the real problem. Let me put it this way: I would pay good money, hell I'd work twenty hour days at some crappy job to get the money, to be able to go in and order a battery of tests that would take blood samples and stool samples and analyze them to find ideal bacterial balances and forign invaders. Then keep a culture profile of it and the ability to order probiotic cultures to adjust the balance back toward balanced states. You don't have to profit from the meds themselves. Profit from the more data you gather across the populations about types and patterns in balance of condition.

I can promise you that things like acid reflux, yeast infections, Irritable bowel, clolitis, crohn's, some neural degenerative conditions, inflammatory illness, some forms of metabolic syndrome, and so much more would give a huge base of costumers that are currently being 'treated' by doing nothing and it usually leads to perminant damages that shorten the viable lifespan of the clients, decrease quality of life and cost millions of work productive hours (which means crappier insurance, or worse even beurocratic paperwork piles that take so much time that it's not worth it to accept government issued health care) and less money to pay for treatment. And side effects from the things that do get perscribed are lawsuit risks.

How is this hard to figure out? Most tests don't have side effects. They give your a lot more data to work on, and they can be repeated to monitor and adjust treatments. And a patient with decent health and average life expectancy is in a better position to earn the money to pay. All because they are paying to be kept health, rather than fixing stuff the system let get brokens and spends most of it's time painting over rather than fixing.

One approach is about how much (or the cost of) medicine you can find sick people for, and the other is about how many people you can maintain health for.

I just needed to rant. sorry.

Corporations run this planet. A person's health is secondary, profit is primary.

Maybe when we stop using money..I don't really believe that will happen though. It is certainly possible, and greatly beneficial. The only way I can see it happening is if people trust AI enough to put them in political positions so they can make those decisions. Or if AI threatens to exterminate all humans if they don't start changing.

That last one was extreme, but AI could really be good for humanity. Some rational thought instead of relying on our outdated emotions when it comes to making decisions, impulses and short term benefits are not cutting it anymore.

I really hope you stay healthy and get cured, I would hate to see anyone be screwed over by greed. Which happens every day.

it is very nasty....I have some appointments next week to see with a new machines the conditions of my bones and soft tissues. it is one of the most advanced at the moment.
Everything will cost me 1.780 euros for a 20 minutes for close scanning.
the machine, i looked on internet costs about 60.000 euros.
I think that 1 month or 2 they over paid for it.
At least I hope they find out what i have...after so many years...i am trying to be optimistic this time.

Sad thing Italy in the movie of Michal Moore -Sicko ( and also according to WHO) is put as the second country after France for affordability to health care.
But we really work like America under the table. We have lots of public health services but they are only essentials and they do not provide answers to problems and often consisten therapies. Doctors reserve one shallow treatment in the public hospital but if you go in their privite clinc you will be the king.
it really makes me vomit.

Health care is all about profit and especially drugs. There arent a lot investiments to cure disease but there are more to treat the symtoms with palliatives.
You have to create problem to create profits as they say in the Zeitgeist movie. I see this in health care very much.
