While we're on the subject of 3.0, do you have any ideas for 4.0?
How about a revamping of the "browse by subject" section? Instead of organizing each subject alphabetically, it could have hierarchically nested articles that have a timeline-based structure similar to the main timeline portion of the site.
For example, you click on "browse by subject," bringing you to the list of subjects that includes AI & Robotics, Business & Politics, Energy & the Environment, etc. Then you click on "Energy & the Environment," bringing you to a timeline similar to the main one, but featuring only the articles on energy & the environment. This level could be further compartmentalized, so that if you click on "Arctic Sea Ice" you'll get a timeline (again, structured just as the main timeline is) that only includes the articles on arctic sea ice cover.
It would be great to somehow wire all the relevant articles in the main timeline so that they'd appear in the pertinent subject timeline when you "browse by subject." I think this would make the site more cohesive, and the predictions and vision more coherent. Thoughts?
