We're already well along the way to reaching that goal. For a couple of years now there's been technology on the market which allows brain-computer interaction (albeit at a fairly primitive level):

The emotiv headset reads emotions and also registers actions thought in your mind. E.g. if you think about picking up a boulder, the in-game demo lifts the boulder. Interesting stuff! :yes:
