Was curious if anyone had a list of people they think should be awarded Nobel/Abel prizes or even predictions on who they think will get awarded. Here's some I think are overdue...
Nobel Prize in Physics
Erik Loopstra/Vadim Banine - For invention of extreme ultraviolet lithography.
J.C. Seamus Davis - For experiments showing that superexchange is behind high-temperature superconductivity
Nobel Prize in Medicine
Katalin Kariko/Drew Weismann - For finding the way to deliver mRNA without causing a reaction of the immune system - Awarded 2023 Nobel Prize in Medicine
Mary-Claire King - For discovering the BRCA1 gene, showing that breast cancer could be inherited.
Demis Hassabis - For work on AI and protein folding problem (AlphaFold).
Nobel Prize in Chemistry
Carolyn Bertozzi - For helping found bioorthogonal/click chemistry and it's applications on glycobiology - Awarded 2022 Nobel Prize in Chemistry
Jeff Dahn - For optimization of Li-Ion battery technologies
Abel Prize (Mathematics)
Richard S. Hamilton - For discovering the Ricci Flow which was applied to solve the Poincare Conjecture and has been greatly used in the field of partial differential equations. I'd be happy to see Grigori Perelman accept this with him since that seemed to be his main objection to accepting his millennium prize for the solution to the Poincare Conjecture but I'm not sure if he would.
Don Zagier - For his contributions in modular forms and elliptic curves.
