Re: Betting On Horses with No-Code AI

It's not that simple. My friend wanted to use machine learning to win big at sports betting. I pointed out that the house probably uses machine learning to set the odds so his model would have to do better than theirs to win money. And they probably have smart people making those models.

Re: Does anyone think aliens might upload our souls/consciousnesses when we die?

Re: Will their always be futurism?

Re: Will their always be futurism?

Re: Machines will control you through persuasion in the future

Yes of course, this is how they'll eventually take over, by slowly persuading us to hand over the keys to our industries and social/political institutions one by one. Not with some skynet bs.

Re: Breaking Out of the Simulation (Simulation Theory)

Furthermore, I can't see the owners of a cosmic simulation becoming emotionally attached to entities in the simulation, any more than you or I would be emotionally attached to NPCs in a video game.

Re: Breaking Out of the Simulation (Simulation Theory)

How can you know what the simulation owners consider "attractive" or what goal they are pursuing?

Re: How The Carrying Capacity of Planets Could be Much Increased

what if i don't want to live in a megacity? That aside, yes the carrying capacity of Earth can be vastly increased. Though posthumans would likely require more energy than normal humans, they could just source it directly from the sun instead of re-routing it through plants and animals. It's not cle...

I don't think it's too plausible but I read it years ago and it was really interesting
