I'm wondering what is the point talking up upgrading America's infrastructure without bringing up the hyperloop to the pubic discourse. I understand upgrading pipes, highways, broadband.... but why even talk about extending Amtrak's lines?

Hyperloop is an unproven technology. It's a little early to be talking about its inclusion in transport budgets.

Oh, I understand it's an unproven technology. What I mean is investing in hyperloop research so it can become a reality. They might supplement some funds in the bill for it. Transportation Secretary Buttigieg did say something about the hyperloop the other day after all.

Could we have a vacuum chute train system based on proposed hyperloop technology, federally owned perhaps, and minus the Elon cringe?
