    On temperature see "The Third Degree" a report commissioned by the Australian government points out that UN models are not accounting for cumulative climate events in their outlined global scenarios.

    The report claims (and I believe it) that the middle of the road scenario is 3C of warming by 2050 and that a low probability high impact scenario of temperatures exceeding 3.5-4C of warming is possible by 2050. If humans are still emitting at 3-4C of warming in 2050 (very likely) than a hothouse Earth scenario is realized.

    Feedback loops will take over and the warming will not stop until it reaches the 6-10C region. It's also important to realize that human civilization is global. If Canada and Russia are safe havens they will collapse under the weight of everyone else's fall.
