I've just realized how crazy the internet is. It's literally all just information. There's nothing real, and humans interact with this giant metaspace of information meaningfully. I'm right now adding to this metaspace on a total level by writing this. So weird.

My 20s to about 35 years of age were, by far, the happiest years of my life. After about 35 years of age you get locked-in to responsibilities, and most of the people you know will be boring (if you end up like me). Definitely, they won't show up on a futurist forum, considering it a "juvenile waste of time".

Don't feel like your 20s are a competition. I know I'm in that period of my life now so take what I say with a grain of salt over the older folks. But I find that competing with myself solely is much more healthy and not toxic. Screw other people in that particular way. I care about my ambitions when measuring self worth, no one else's. If someone else does something "better" than me because they get there first than good for them, it doesn't reflect on my ability exce...

Tripoli government making serious counter-offences, and Haftar now in a dangerous position to getting cut off. War is going to be prolonged now, as I'm guessing he either retreats or a foreign power plays with the ants.

IMHO Haftar is just afraid of long and bloody urban warfare which may bring him the "victory" but will ruin his reputation of benevolent strongman. One thing when you're destroying the distant foreign city (USA in Mosul) and completely different when you're doing this with your own capital.

"He says the soldiers — of course, these guys were shackled, bound, you know, couldn’t move, surrounded by all kinds of military police and so on. But he said the guards were afraid of the prisoners. He said the guards had been so brainwashed by whatever training they went through, that they thought these prisoners were superhuman. He said that guards would come to his cell sometimes, where he’s shackled and, you know, so on, and ask him to perform some of his feats, like, you know, climb...

And, in fact, when they took them out to be interrogated, they’d have like a platoon of marines around them to make sure that they didn’t carry out some incredibly monstrous act that these soldiers had probably seen in a video movie somewhere.": https://chomsky.info/20130516/

Some favorite ambient artists that aren't Japanese. Brian Eno, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Boards of Canada, Kettel and Secede.

Post your favorite Japanese artists I'll take a listen. I've not really explored Japanese music outside of shoagaze and anime osts.

Vinyl collecting is a lot of fun an expensive. I've moderated my collecting costs by mostly only buying records at live shows.

I don't know if I really think of the alt-right in the same light. I'm not saying you're wrong Yuli just that I don't know. Islamic extremists are from what I understand really serious traditionalists that have a warped understanding of traditionalism. The alt-right on the other hand attempt to build an ideology entirely out of transgression making them more postmodernist than right wing. They are the 1968 pseudo-revolution just in the opposite direction. The problem is that o...

one can't actually build a coherent argument entirely out of negation. Which means that if the trend holds there should be a massive upswing of psuedo far leftists sometime in the next 50 years once their feign at being right wing shows it's incoherence. This might actually be the modern day response to capitalist alienation expressed by the masses.

I think if it were just a decomposing body it wouldn't have the same effect. The directors put that dramatic music in their and ramped up the tension.

It adds to it, but there's still something so weird about seeing a human body distort into this nightmarish, bloated black and yellow thing with grey matter pouring out its mouth and eye sockets. But alas, that's the natural cycle of life.
