I've been wanting to create a YouTube channel for so long now but I'm still stuck on what I should even make it about. I was thinking politics coming from a western-raised arab perspective, but I also want to talk about futurism, and political science, and other stuff. What do you guys think?

Outlook, I would make the channel all about you. You talk about what you think about everything through your own lens. Think about what sets you apart from the rest, what makes you different, etc.

I think go the Stoic-perspective route. Analyse different happenings through a Stoic lens (be it politics, the singularity, religion etc). Also, perhaps it's important to remember that it's not what decision you make at the beginning, it's about what you make of that decision as time goes on. There are wrong answers but no single right answer, so as long as you pick something workable, your real talent will be in making the best of whatever imperfect choice you've made.

Well, it's that day of the year again. It's crazy to think that since then, Al Qaeda as a name faded, and the US is negotiating peace talks with the Taliban, although that remains to be seen.

Trying to get insecure apathetic people to care is like trying to convince a freshly grieving widow that she needs to accept her husband is dead. It's hell.

Not that it's healthy to ever force a freshly grieving widow like that. The problem is that if the widow that is global society doesn't pull itself together we're all in very big trouble.

New Zealand's South Island is 107% the size of Southern Ontario is it's essentially ~ the same size. That's a lot bigger than I thought. It always looks so small on the map.

My bad. The reason I dislike Pinterest is because for almost all image search you do they hog the top links. Clicking on one of their images leads to their website's interface where finding the post with the image is nigh impossible, and their interface makes it slow. It just makes it very hard and annoying to image search since their website's essentially a dead end, even when you do have an account with them, as I already do.

I gotta pamphlet from the conservative party of Canada actually vowing to protect the environment. I'm pleasantly surprised. They're calling for green investment, ending raw sewage dumps, reducing plastic waste, and so forth with the MP smiling at plants in one picture. No carbon tax of course, but still. I'm glad they recognize the importance of the environment in policy.

Yea, I don't doubt it's anything but demagoguery, but it's interesting. In other countries you have conservative parties actively seeking to diminish the environment and it shows a conscious shift in CPC strategy. I'm interested in the pamphlets they're handing out in Alberta, and Saskatchewan though.

I'd expect real conservatives to become very protective of the environment as things become clearer in the public eye. Their values to conserve society and their affinity for capitalism is going to come into major conflict at some point because without the environment there is no society.
