I've also running hot water through the pipes periodically because i'm afraid they'll freeze. The thermometer says it's -3c in the living room rn.

Took your advice on insomnia to heart the other day though. I have a bad habit of being on the computer way later than I should be.

-3C? Are you serious? My flat rarely gets below 15C. You must have extremely poor insulation.

Browsing dead imageboards makes me grateful this forum is still active. Hats off to everyone new and old alike. There's been an uptick in activity here recently and that's got me optimistic

    My best tip for insomnia:
Turn all screens off (computer monitor, TV, mobile, etc.) at least one hour before bedtime. And go to bed at a consistent time each and every night. For me it's 10.30pm.

I have some sort of extremely positive association in my brain chemistry with 55-65 degree weather on grassy knolls/open fields during mostly crepuscular times of the day. I went on an early morning stroll and all the colors are as bright as a dopamine high from weed. It's all very odd, but good. This has been happening for years but I haven't been able to really express it until now.

It helps if, during twilight, there's a Belt of Venus with a few stars, giving the sky an ethereal violet/pink/blue hue.

Sunsets and music. There's a few songs, or moments in songs, that every time I hear, it's like opening my eyes and seeing colour for the first time. It's like I've been electrified, and it just brings a cascade of emotions of happiness and melancholy at the same time. Idk what weird shit is going on in my brain when that happens, but it's amazing.

And as for sunsets, I could just sit and stare at those for the rest of my life and I wouldn't get tired. There's nothing better than that time of the day when the sun is going down.

tea and good vibes. It's a more relaxed Christmas after all the holiday rushing with the rest of the family. I'm not Orthodox, it's a cultural celebration for me.

A tradition we didn't revive was that my Great Grandmother used to light and blow out candles before the dinner started.

According to her if the smoke all blew towards one person that person was going to die before next Christmas. It sounds very morbid. We were talking about turning the tradition on its head and lighting some candles for a new person to join us at the table next year instead.

Hahaha, that sounds about morbid enough for Eastern Europe. That's nice you're sticking to your roots.

I'm being terribly cliche, people play this at their bougee weddings. But the hipsters aren't always right and this song is genuinely that good, I really viscerally get it.

I got a second hand PS Vita a few months ago and it is the greatest. Once you hack it you can play PSP/PSone games and run emulators to play pretty much all retro games. At the moment I am playing a lot of Gameboy Advance games from my childhood.

I don't understand how people can see fires like in Australia recently and not demand systemic change. What do people think will happen if we just sit on our hands? I guess it's the same logic as seeing another country invaded but not thinking it can happen to you. Or watching famine somewhere else but thinking your food supply is secure.

Same, there are a few niche communities where I get practical information from. But the days of dopamine rushes from browsing reddit seem to be over for me. I could be wrong, but it feels like the userbase has aged too.

Man I played the hell out reach and 3 back in the day. Was so obsessed with learning Halo lore, it was probably unhealthy. But how have you managed to play it? Have you just gotten a 360?
