Code Geass is edgy, has minor fan service, and many droll infuriating moments. But rewatching it 9 years later, the drama is just so perfectly paced. The whole show presents itself like an opera.

    Hail Britannia!I rewatched it during the actual year it was suppose to take place. Really enjoy alternate history takes, and for an anime it was a cool political drama. Really wish I had a Geass...

    You too lol. That's part of the appeal of the show, it lets all the megalomaniac fantasies out. I might write something for a blog I've been milling about making. Suzaku as the reformist contrasted with Lelouch as the revolutionary. There's a lot of intro level philosophy too and I wonder what influence it had on me.
