I have learned the hard way about the hormone "orexin", through my diet, which is a type of "intermittent fasting": https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orexin

I might have to adopt this diet. It looks super convenient and worthwhile. 2 meals a day is easier to manage and I could use more energy!

Would small frequent carbohydrates heavy meal , have the opposite effect ?

Insufficient sleep result in compromised performance and lack of energy.

Although my diet isn't designed to be "keto", it has much the same effect, and the same insomnia problem described in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1xay0186_U I have tried all this guy suggested (more B vitamins, potassium, etc.), and it doesn't help. Another video suggested adding carbs in the evening -- which I don't plan to do.
