Has anyone heard of Francevillian Biota? Multi-celled life dating back to 2.1 billion years ago--totally distinct from modern multi-celled life like plants, animals, and fungi. Turns out we (ediacaran biota) are attempt #2 at MC life. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francevillian_biota

    They evolved in a period of oxygen abundance and died out when it ended. They have no known living descendants.
