2020 has been just an unbelievable time for sci-tech already. If only the geopolitical aspects weren't crap. It really reminds me of 2014, but with a pandemic rather than potential world war as the flashpoint.

The AI that you can talk with on your phone might work as a standalone app by about 2024 or 2025; and it will be more impressive than what we've seen thus far from GPT-3. (Might happen sooner, depending on what comes of the BCI data approaches.) It will be like a guardian angel -- it will remember you; help you to learn and grow; and solve problems for you, like read over legal documents and help you keep your life in order.

Not gonna lie, while I am still very much anticipating a robotic partner, it's synthetic media that's completely captured my attention. Transformers' ability to synthesize media and potentially even replace transformers and encoders is the more interesting application, at least personally to me right now.
