I am not convinced at all at the Pangaea Ultima scenario for the next super continent. I believe the Atlantic will continue to expand till the pacific completely closes rather than the Atlantic just randomly developing subduction zones and dissapearing. I found a graphic with several different configuration alternatives that may work better for the a super continent is forming on earth article. In reality we have no idea which of the alternatives will really happen, but i think Novopangea or Amasia is more realistic due to current drift trends. I don't see subduction zones forming along the coast and the Mid-Atlantic ridge is strong a ever.

Novopangea and Amasia are pacific closing alternatives. Pangea Proxima is Chris Scotese' Pangea Ultima, he renamed it due to the realization that the next supercontinent is probably not the last.
