I fixed the homepage:

http://www.pasttimeline.net/

(you might need to refresh it)

Well, now, that's awesome! I do love a good prequel!

This is a project I would probably be much more interested in investing my time in than this one. Notice how most of my posts revolve around history, animals, the human era, and primitivism. I really look forward to the PastTimeline forum.

Well here's my plan:

1. Make FutureTimeline GDPR-compliant (by end of this month)

2. Get our merchandise store up and running (by end of January)

3. Begin work on Past Timeline (Feb-March)

Are you still working on this project? Because this idea looks very interesting, but no news is about it.

These are the sections I'm proposing.

Let me know if you agree with them:

Timeline of Natural History (13.7 billion years BC – 3.3 million BC)
Timeline of Human Prehistory (3.3 million BC – 3500 BC)
Timeline of Ancient History (3500 BC – 499 AD)
Timeline of the Middle Ages (500 – 1499)
Timeline of Early Modern History (1500 – 1899)
Timeline of Modern History (1900 – 2019)
Timeline of the Future (a few selected excerpts from FutureTimeline.net, with a link to the main website)

It might make sense to change these two

"Timeline of Early Modern History (1500 – 1899)

 Timeline of Modern History (1900 – 2019)"

Into

Timeline of Early Modern History (1500 – 1799)

Timeline of Modern History (1800 – 2019)

The reason being that the industrial revolution had started by 1800 and pretty radically changed society. I think people in the 1800s (especially late 1800s) had more in common with us today than they did with folks in the early 1700s but I could be wrong there.

^ Yeah, I agree with you there.

Okay, so how about the opening standfirst on the homepage?

On FutureTimeline it's:

Welcome to the future!

Explore our timeline of future predictions...

For PastTimeline I'm thinking it could be:

A journey back in time!

Explore our timeline of the past...

They need to be "general" enough to include several areas, but at the same time, not too general, if that makes sense.

Ideally 12 categories, so I can just copy the HTML template from FT, but a multiple of four could also work, i.e. 16 or 20.

So far I have:

Anniversaries and landmarks

Fossils and evolution

Geology and climate

Relics and ruins
Science and inventions
Society and culture

Space and the Universe
Travel and exploration
