4 years after making this thread and I finally got a 4K TV and a player.

I'm really impressed, oddly enough the majority of movies I own are older.

I bought ET, Die Hard, Lion King and Bladerunner and I'm really impressed with the 4K restorations, these "older" movies look like they could've been filmed yesterday, it's great to see old actors and places brought back with such life-like detail.

Hopefully PS5 and Xbox Next support the format because I'm really eager to see this take off now.

Meanwhile we've had some great remasters in the last few months; Apocalypse New, The Shining, Casino and The Matrix have all recently had new life breathed into them.
