2000 and 2006 are the best. The worst is 2015 by far.

2015's earlier icon looks like I could have made it in MSPaint in about a minute.

I always imagined the future as a time of more reason, empathy, and peace, not less. It's time for a change.

Again, gonna have to be more specific. Which 2015 icon? Or do you mean both?

Edit: Got it.

Well I guess it's obvious.

You can't change opacity in MSpaint, so you'd have to be really good to do the last 2015 image.

Nostalgia's garbage and I hate it. Such an easy way to exploit people for cash grabs that play to their sense of longing for the past.

I was born on the day that the U.S. & Russian armies met & shook hands in Berlin at the end of the 2nd world war in April 1945. Adolf Hitler was still alive! At least for a couple more days.

I am fortunate that I can remember most of my life. Dementia fortunately appears to have passed me by.

Going food shopping meant strolling down the main street. Calling at the butchers for meat. The bakers for bread. The green grocer for fruit & veg. The fishmonger for.........well. You get the gist.

That great American curse, the supermarket had not yet infiltrated our streets. (sorry USA) But I preferred the old way! Even Sainsburys & Tescos. 2 of our largest supermarket chains, only had small local shops (stores)!

It seemed like only yesterday when I watched the queen's coronation live on TV.

Did you see me in Hyde Park? I was there!

Remember these old MP3 players?

I9idD.jpg

Came with 16MB or 32MB of storage, but the higher end ones could even go up to 64MB. And back then, you actually needed batteries for them.

Pedant!Ban: When did we stop using batteri—

I mean batteries you buy from a store. Like triple A batteries.
