Pokemon Crystal came out in 2000 and the Game Boy Color was still around and I was 13 in 2000.

Oh, and I remember these things

I'm just old enough to remember the tail end of these things. I distinctly remember...

and

... back in 1999.

It seemed like only yesterday when I watched the queen's coronation live on TV.

Isn't it enough to realize you're feeling old because you start to notice signs of aging?

July 11, 2006. This day seemed uneventful, but in fact it quietly marked the beginning of a new era of humanity.

MySpace Becomes The #1 Website In America

The world shook the hand of social media and never looked back.

I remember reading this and being like, "What the hell is MySpace?" Funny how a kid today who's the age I was that day (11 years old) would have the exact same reaction.

Lots of things make me feel old (I'm 38), but having to scroll way down to find my birth year on a website probably tops the list.

I feel old simply because I know I currently have a limited lifespan.

Once that Dr. Aubrey de Grey realizes his dream, I will stop feeling this way.

I guess realizing that my brother is almost eighteen years old and a legal adult makes me feel old. I still remember the days where we used to share a bath as teeny tiny toddlers haha

The fact I saw the progression of this in real time...

Played MGS in 1999. Recently played the latest Metal Gear game, Ground Zeros. I got to see the graphical improvements as they happened. 16 years makes a lot of difference...

Frankly, THIS makes me feel old:

Incest between siblings and necrophilia should be legalised, a branch of the Swedish Liberal People's Party has argued. The Stockholm branch of the party's youth wing (LUF) voted on the controversial motion at its annual meeting on Sunday... The LUF also voted to support the legalisation of sexual acts with a corpse, on the condition that the person consented while they were still alive.

My instincts screams that there is something very... even fundamentally wrong in all of this, but i can't rationalize this. Indeed, what's wrong is everyone is/was fully consent? Maybe it's just me slowly becoming an old fart, grumbling "in our times..." and unable to understand the true Taste Of Freedom?

Well evolution made us with the tendencies to view it as disgusting or not right if you will in order to protect us and avoid infection or genetic deficiencies but in reality as the article says there is nothing fundamentally wrong but there can be bad outcomes if precautions or preparations are not taken.

That in no way means I would even think of doing any of that stuff but the point stands.

The growth of computation is doubly exponential growth.

Forgive my question, but... do you really think infection is the only reason to avoid necrophilia? And as soon as precautions or preparations are taken... This is exactly what i meant saing "that's why i feel old". Everything have its borders, even moral relativism.

Well is it harmful? In short no. So is it self deprecating or does it harm another? No. I'd never even thought about necrophilia but now that I do i would say that the strongest argument against it would be that it is contrary to our nature and that if someone is doing that they may be mentally ill due to the fact that we usually prefer living partners. That's sort of like the argument that being homosexual is against our nature though so that is the reason why I don't see right off the top of my head a compelling reason to outlaw it as long as there is consent as mentioned in the article.

Maybe you can let me know of a better reason to outlaw it?

Again I would not do it just as I wouldn't sleep with another man but I don't have anything against those who do.

I don't support it per say just as I don't support bestiality and many other things but I wont judge.

The growth of computation is doubly exponential growth.
