Elon gives it a 90% chance of turning to vapour shortly after launch
Only take advice from people who have what you want.
You don't decide your future. You decide your habits, and your habits decide your future.

There was never any doubt and I agree with you Jakob not even Elon knows how quickly and how far he will go.

Notice the retractable connecting struts for the booster stages, they definitely want to re-use as much as possible.

“If the genius of invention were to reveal to-morrow the secret of immortality, of eternal beauty and youth, for which all humanity is aching, the same inexorable agents which prevent a mass from changing suddenly its velocity would likewise resist the force of the new knowledge until time gradually modifies human thought.”

Also I think I saw on /r/spacex that they plan on catching the fairing?

Seriously?

LOL

Elon definitely wasn't exaggerating.

(I'm assuming this isn't photo-shopped)

This is going to be the first car in space. I know i'm stating the obvious but this is history in the making. We will be able to say we were alive and observant when the first car made its arrival into space. Not only into space of course but into Mars orbit. I find it very satisfying that the person making this happen has such a flamboyant sense of humor.

Hopefully, although it is also very likely to explode before it reaches space.

I think St. Elon is just trying to lower our expectations so we will be even happier when it succeeds.

Of course...

Do we know how long until launch now? Only a few days, I'd assume.
