Hi
What needs to happen is that the Democrats need to grow a pair and make sure that the work as hard at blocking everything that Trump tries to do as the Republicans did to Obama.
The "Can't we all just get along?" school will be disaster and lead to the Republican's entrenching themselves to the point that there's no way to get them out again.
The next four years is either going to be a real battle or the we will see a conservative, anti science, anti progress, anti human rights, pro rich, pro big business government for decades to come.
The Democrats should be getting ready to fight right now.
Almost the Republican's first statement was that they were going to obstruct everything that President Obama tried to do, and to make sure he was a one term president.
Now it's the Democrat's turn, and unlike the Republicans they have to succeed in doing it.
Even 4 years is enough to screw things up to the point that it will take decades to recover.
How long until the republican polices cause the next great recession, more spending, tax cuts, trickle down economics, the same old thing.
Unless the Democrats really fight this could be a total disaster.
The ironic thing is that the people who elected him are the ones who are going to get hurt the most.
Predictions ...
The wall will never be built, sparing graffiti artists a massive undertaking.
I don't think that there will be a massive upscale in military operations in the Middle East, there just isn't any real taste for that in either party.
As to health care, I have a hard time believing that they really want to be the people who take health care away from twenty million people.
Maybe they will really try and fix it?
I do think that there will be a big crackdown on emigration, it's one thing that he can probably get done, and in reality something that President Obama has already started doing. That's how he got the nick name De-porter and Chief.
As for trade I have no idea, what will happen, as long as they won't confront the idea that planning for the future is the solution not trying to go back to the way things were as the answer, who knows?
Their real agenda is pro business not pro worker so will they really try and do anything that would hamper businesses ability to sell and manufacture overseas?
