This is probably the longest and most thorough dissection of the concept I've seen.

Nikola tesla antigravity tech could make fly car a possibillity .and of course lowering flying car mass through carbon fibers, plastic fibers,3d graphene and lower powerful battery mass and volume and ionic wind propulsion and m-drive propulsion .

Too many regulations and females that don't want little child(you and me hint, hint) to take any real risk. Lets be honest if todays culture was in place during  the 1950's-1960's space travel would have never gotten off the ground and air flight wouldn't have either 40 years before.

Humans aren`t birds nor insects and of course can`t fly alone. What does that fact of wanting children or not have to do with flying cars?

When you have a thread which is primarily about an article that is linked in the first post, maybe consider reading the article before responding?

I agree with the article, the compromises needed for flight make a bad car, and the compromises needed for driving make a bad aircraft. Maybe with 00s of years of tech advancement this wont be an issue, but its still not an efficient or effective way to get people around compared to the many alternatives.

Along with this, the majority of people cant fly an aircraft, and like with people talking about post automation, its odd to assume that basically everyone could learn to safely fly an aircraft, so flying cars would need to be drones anyway, which takes a lot of the fun out of it.
