I dont think the 1750 guy would really die in our world, I thing he/she would just go crazy( It actually depends on the person). But I dont think I would go crazy if I travel to 2300, not even to 3000 or 100 0000 years in the future. Thats because I already expect the world to change a lot. And if world didnt change , I would just say " Oh, thats boring".
People from 100 000 years ago didnt expect their world to change at all. At that time, most people didnt experienced any significant change during their lifetimes. Parents and grandmothers prepared their kids to live in the same world that they used to live. Advices of the elders were much more valued, because elders knew more about how the world worked .
Nowadays, kids arent expected to live in the same world their parents and grandparents , so advices from grandparents are often useless or even harmfull. Most parents born on 1930 told their kids to work as early as possible( at least in Brazil), because to study is to lose time. Kids that did this were likely stuck on poverty for whole life. The advice to work as early as possible worked for centuries , but not to middle 20th century.
My grandmother wanted to study, but her father didnt let her go to school because men didnt like women that study. At that time, women werent allowed to work outside home, and they had to marry to survive. But her life would be much better if she studied. At 1950, many men didnt care if the woman studied or not, meaning she could marry anyways. My grandfather abandoned her with my father and 3 other kids to raise. She didnt study, so getting a job was more difficult , and they often didnt have what to eat. She managed to learn how to read and earned some money teaching children how to read, but could earn much more money if studied, in the 1960 most teachers were women.
People from early 1900 experienced much fewer changes during their lifetimes and often thought that the changes were temporary. People in 1900 thought cars were just an odd thing that would quickly disappear and things would go back to normal: only horses in the streets.
Now, parents have to prepare their children to live in a world thats always changing.
