A weird thread.  Let me psychoanalyze a bit:  how sincere are people being when they post divisive content?  Are they really that motivated to "set the record straight" or "speak truth", or is it about something else?  -- e.g. acting and pretending, because they want to be seen as the type of person who says and believes those things; or, it's a tantrum like where a child feels they've been dissed, or where they are jealous, and so lashes out in an unrelated discussion.

If they are sincere, then I think the love will be tenuous at best.  If they are not sincere, then at least those offended can be reassured that they "don't really care about that stuff".

Since this board is now all about loving one another...

It would be great if anyone ever feels like doing some passive aggressive thread if they gave context for it at the beginning, I don't tend to visit the forums over the weekends, so I don't know what set this off, (or what was going on in the status updates)?

I love Outlook the most and I'm definitely not just saying that as a part of my "escape to Canada" post Brexit/climate disaster plan.

Gay marriage is legal in Canada right?( Asking for a totally unrelated reason!)

RIP Grumpy Cat. Poor little gal passed away recently.

That's terrible news!**

I know there is generally a left wing bias on the forum* and that this feels bad for those who don't align with those views but what I don't get is why people who hold minority views on this forum, keep endlessly bringing up those views, stating and restating them over and over again, but back away from any actual discussion or debate or attempt to defend those views.

Now I enjoy a good internet argument! Probably far to much, so I get why would log onto a right wing forum and argue all day but it doesn't seem like any of the people doing that here are having a great time? Or even making much in the way of arguments beyond just stating (usually inaccurate or distorted) things.

As an example, I fully expect SR to ignore this post. SR ignores almost all my posts (I suspect he has enabled the option to block everything I say). But In spite of his desire not to debate any political topics with anyone who believes differently to him, he still comes to this forum nearly every day and posts his opinions while refusing to discuss them, and also complaining about how censored he feels when he gets told to shut up.

I just don't understand what the payoff Is? Unless they're actually having loads of fun, that would obviously be pretty great! But it just doesn't seem like anyone is enjoying themselves?

*(in that there are about 6 regular "left" posters vs about 3 "right" posters, and a bunch of people who ignore most of the political threads and talk futurism)

** well now i'm sad and this forum software has no good sad emojis so I don't know how to express myself!

Even though I've never seen her, I love your daughter and hope she grows up well.

And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future.
