What will the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings in 2066 look like?

In the Gregorian calendar, October 14, 2066 will be a Thursday. This is 17,223 days from the date of this post.

Presumably, people would look back at the year 1066 (which would be considered to be a thousand years ago by 2066) to see what happened during the Battle of Hastlings. Of course, lots of things have changed in the last millennium. For example, we currently have a country known as the United States, something that did not exist in 1019 or even 1066.

Possibly a reenactment by history enthusiasts? But this happens each year anyway.

If the BBC still exists by 2066, perhaps they'll do a recreation in full-immersion VR.

Overall though, I don't think the anniversary will have much significance here in the UK.
