Can sea monsters creatures and beasts underwater really sink and attack cruise ships boats or submarines or just a myth?

I have seen in movies yes they are movies that giant sea monsters have attacked cruise ships, submarines, yachts, speedboats, cargo ships in the water do sea creatures that are this immense, gigantic, enormous size can really do this or just fantasy?

Giant creatures of the sea do exist, such as the colossal squid, but they are stuck in the deepest parts of the oceans, so the only time they would emerge from the depths of the oceans is when they are dead, so they pose no threat to us.
