17 February 2013 - Increasingly manufacturers and developers are experimenting with wearable technology.

Recent innovations include clothes that display twitter updates, mobile phone headsets, Google glasses, mobile phones that work in conjunction with wristwatches, and bracelets that track your fitness regime.

As an experiment in wearable tech, and to highlight the possibilities of recycling old mobile phones in an imaginative way, designer Sean Miles of Designworks was approached by O2 Recycling to integrate mobile phones into shoes.

At his company's design studio in Windsor, he explained to the BBC's Dougal Shaw how he tackled the challenge.

I think this type of technology has gone to far, People will think your talking into a shoe and think your nuts.

“One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don't throw it away.”
