what are you planing on doing with it, get creative. gaming is obvious and is also why it's being made in the first place. but me personally i really want to time travel to other eras all eras really of human history! what about you? what will you be doing once your inside cyberspace? change your identity, live your dream life, fly, the possibilities really are as far as the imagination can go...

Yeah i want to Time Travel as well and go to other eras such as the Roman Era and WWI and WW2 eras etc, also go on a virtual holiday even though you are at work.

Open my own Harem Turkish style of beautiful women from all over the world. some of them will be ladies who I had a crash in high school.
I also will create my own civilization, therefore I will become God.
I will create a bunch of war and new sports to play.
I will live like a killer whale or sperm whale or simply as an eagle or a lion.
I d like to live back in the 60s 0r 80s
I will have my own house which will look more like a castle and it will have all sort of strange animals and objects.

I'll recreate politican I hate the most and kick him in the nuts. Really FUCKING hard.

I would be at the front of The Verve's 1998 performance at Haigh Hall:
That would be f*cking incredible.

I'd like to experience what is like to be someone's anus for the duration of his life.... perhaps not.
On a serious note, at the very beginning of my experiences with immersive virtual reality, I'd like to live as one of the main characters in my favorite sci-fi/fantasy novels, changing plotlines from what was originally written. Later after I get bored with all of that that, I'm not sure... as I know my priorities/goals will evolve as time goes by.

I've always wanted to be superman and spiderman in vr.
I just want to free run through New York City or some other big city. I'd love to live Superman's life, have you seen Smallville? That show is amazing, I'd love to live it first hand.
Hey. Stop reading. The post is over.

What to do? Well, let's see...
- Travel to historical times;
- Virtual space travel;
- Socialise with friends (if they take up V.R. also, otherwise I am very happy to socialise ther old-fashioned way);
- Sex! (Joking, haha);
- See music;
- Many other things that I have not yet thought of!
I would change forms, e.g. I may want to be myself at one point, but then I may feel like being an Enkidukai (from the game PlaneShift).
The possibilities are limitless and I could probably think a bit more creatively when (if, though it likely will) such a technology becomes available.

I want to enlist in the Grande Armee that marched on Moscow in 1812 under Napoleon.
EDIT: And have all sorts of weird sex.

- Sex
- Go on a journey as a Pokèmon trainer
- Fly
- Do things with various superpowers
- Space-travel
- Time-travel
- Do all kinds of drugs
- Kill myself in different ways
- Blow things up with nuclear weapons
- Expose myself to different diseases (smallpox, bubonic plague etc) just to find out what it feels like

No. It's just curiosity; I collect experiences of different kinds.

OK time for more serious post. I guess space travel, and free construction of a world, including some architecture ideas I had in my dreams would would be first things to try out. To see those buildings outside dream perspective/mindstate would be nice. Also to fly through space, see Earth, Saturn from orbit would be as fantastic experience. To walk on surface of Europa, Io, Titan...

If it's possible to record your time in VR, I'd like to start up a film studio lol. Very cheap way to do set designs, change actors, etc.
But as Raklian mentioned, I'd personally want to dive into a fictional universe as a main character for general gaming purposes.

Yeah that's how I see it. I'd kill myself every way possible lol
EDIT: Skyrim in VR would be amazing. Any Elder Scrolls game would be. I expect that when real simulated virtual reality is a reality (pun intended) people will recreate all sorts of classic games. Including TES.

Full immersion VR is going to be a complete game changer. Why go on holiday abroad when you can do so online? Hell why even bother leaving your house when you can experience any environment online? It's the one technology which I actually find quite scary, because the implications for our society could be huge. Perhaps in the early stages (2040 according to this site) it won't be that detailed, but in the latter part of the 21st century it's going to be pretty much indistinguishable from real life.
The thing is, why bother trying to advance science past this point? Anything is feasible in a virtual reality, even things which defy the laws of physics. The Matrix obviously springs to mind, everyone plugged in & surviving on sustenance sent through tubes. Kinda scary don't you think? I suppose they have to understand the world to be able to model it however, you can't model what would happen at the centre of a star if you don't have the science to back it up. I also wonder how feasible it would be to even model the universe in its entirety.
Anyway, onto the topic at hand.... Super powers & the like would be cool, but it's actually space travel that interests me the most. Acting like a Silver Surfer style character, exploring galaxies would be amazing. Exploring the world, climbing mountains would be great too. Plus of course lots and lots and lots of sex haha!

When we can perfectly simulate reality, down to the sub atomic level and even below. It will be possible to increase the clockspeed of that reality so that time moves faster in the simulated environment than it does in reality, right?
So we could eventually put AI into these simulated realities and they could do research much faster because time is faster in there. We could have a whole new singularity doing that!

That's an amazing theory! Now that is an incredibly responsible application of a lot of these new technologies we will eventually be exposed to. I think for most people virtual reality instantly takes us to a place of freedom of creativity, but I've never even heard of a researcher or scientists imply that we could use these virtual systems for a faster, more in-depth and accurate model of prediction and invention.
Back to the initial question, I would probably use this space to realize myself as different organisms or animals, I would probably spend a lot of time exploring underwater and in space. I'd like to take a trip to some other solar systems.
