What was the most innovative decade of the past 120 years? This means what decade created the most advancements in technology, science and innovation???

1880s, 1890's were huge decades for electric, telephone and physics.

1900-1910's were HUGE for the car, airplane. Oil, coal, Steal, etc. Basic understanding of genetics, etc.

1920's kicked ass for cures for disease. Lived before the 1920's and after made a big difference. ;)  Many of the diseases of old were nearly wiped out.

1940's-1960's were decades of huge advancement in the jet engine.

1960's-1970's were the decade of rockets and space travel! Computers were also advancing with new and improve technology. ;)Amazing medical advances. Like pace makers, etc. Microwaves...

1980's personal computers, vcr's, cell phones..Heart transplants, etc.

1990's internet, PDA's

2000's flat t.v's, amazing advancement in computers; tablets, smart phones, wireless tech, renewable energy! 3-d printing for your home...

This is a hard choice for me. We owe a lot to the 1900's for cars, planes and oil, but the same can be said for the 1920's for the vaccines!

I've choosen the 1960's

1# Huge advancement in rocket techonology

2# Huge advancement in the jet engine

3# Huge advancement in computers

4# The house hold got more electric with the microwave, color t.v, etc.

5# Medical tech that is pretty amazing. Easily more innovation then the 1990's and 2000's!

6# Strong advances in Geology

1900's and 1920's deserve honorable showing ;)

To compare the 2000s seen 9 big innovations in medical compared to 22 for the 1960s!

I'm going with the 1920s with the vaccines and 1940s with jet plane engine advancements and when the whole of Europe reunited after WW2 by building there countries again.

I've voted for the 1990s. Technology seemed to develop at a very quick pace throughout the 20th century, but when it got to the 1990s, it absolutely started rocketing. Seems to be a bit more paced out now.

I don't believe we're accerating in the rate of innovation...WE just sit on top of the 200 years of it looking down! ;)  On the other hand I do believe that other innovations are popping up and we're not stalled.

All decades follow the method TN = TN-1 + XN, where X is very large.

There are more people than ever before.

People are more educated than ever before.
Knowledge is built upon knowledge.
More people are innovating and designing than ever before, instead of doing mundane jobs.
Technology increases the productivity of persons as it develops.

Sure, there have been single innovations or groups of innovations that impacted the world disproportionately more than the time taken to create them, but that isn't the question.
