Right now the problem of royalty is that they're limited in capacity.   But it is most certain that were their abilities far beyond human, they would be fitter to lead, perhaps too fit for the unintelligent masses to recognize their place.   In a house it is not the children nor the pets that govern but the parents, those of lesser capacity must know their place.

They've got lots of capacity. There are dozens of them all over the place, you never know where they're going to turn up next. Oz, NZ, Canada... Plenty of palaces all over the country too, they could just live in one house like everyone else. Give them Buck House and sell off the rest, or turn them into museums.

It really annoys me that we got rid of them once, and then invited them back. Scottish too, just to add insult to injury. :fie:

I agree with Andrew Ryan on just one thing. No gods or kings, only man.

I hate the very concept of hereditary leadership. If you want to lead you must first prove yourself worthy of the position. The whole notion of "blue blood" and royal lineage is utter dark-age bull-crap peddled by people in power to stay in power.

That said, the UK royal family does pay for itself.... Okay they can be a tourist attraction and nothing more. UK aught to get a democratically elected president.

Honestly, the UK needs to worry more about David Cameron.

I suppose it would have to be 'Republic of Great Britain and Northern Ireland'.

Unless the Scots piss off in which case it would be 'Republic of England, Wales and Northern Ireland'

Then if we can get rid of the Taffs it would be 'Republic of England and Northern Ireland'

One last step and it would be INGERLAND!

What's wrong with just "England"?

Go into a pub in Glasgow on a Friday and tell them they're English. Wake up in hospital.

Dude that is actually retarded. I had a friend that made that mistake and she got the shit kicked out of her and woke up in hospital.

It astounds me that people still think the UK is a country. It is in-fact a geopolitical/economic/military union of several nations (like a much closer EU) that is counted as a single unit for the purposes of GDP calculation e.c.t.
