The time line talks about all these totally cool technologies, but who will they be available to? Will these only be available to the rich leaving the middle class and poor out in the cold? What do you think?

Initially many, if not most or all, new technologies are only available to the rich, and then they gradually become cheaper and thus much more available to less well-off people over time. For some technologies this could occur very quickly, while for other technologies this could occur very slowly (cryonics, et cetera).

of course there will always be an elite in everything. at least for centuries. the big problem will be when we have more consistent regenerative medicine and body augmentation. that will split society in two and with dangerous consequences if these two last technologies don't become accessible to everyone.

The timeline states when these technologies would be invented....like the mobile phone. Initially it was thousands of dollars, now its more around $500. So only the committed and wealthy people will be one the "first" to get this new state of the art technology. Then once manufacturing costs lower, they will become available to us townsfolk

Just like with any other technology, as it improves, the price falls. 30 years ago, a personal computer with some 5 MB of memory costed about 6000$. It was huge, noisy, unpractical, slow and all, and now you can buy a computer that vastly outperforms that one for 100$. Same goes for other technologies. Next year, google glass is going to hit the market, for over 1000$ each. I bet that in 5 years we'll get better augmented reality systems that are cheaper.

More than technology what do you think about medical treatments? Will the middle class and poor get the medical treatment they are entitled to? If not that could split society completely in half. :(
