A new theory suggests the Earth once had a small second moon that perished in a slow motion collision with its "big sister".

I was thinking What the other moon had looked like at the time.

“One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don't throw it away.”

Interesting since such slow impact should slow moon down, thus lowering it's orbit around Earth, yet we know that Moon is getting farther from Earth. Still I'm no astrophysicist. Maybe it's not contradicting.
