We can still launch a rocket/satellite to there. I never said anything about man going there....

2090- Space Real Estate Boom: Stimulates Economy! Travel between the planets for a price. The privately owned space agencies are still competing with NASA as it gets further into the solar system. NASA which originally placed man on Mars is upset because these commercial space-lines are now beating them in the space race. Space real estate is booming, an industry that NASA has been trying to stop for years! Now the private companies are looking to set up a hotel on Phoebes one of Mars’ moons.

2097- 20 Years of Peace!: The One World Global Community has been complete. Chinglish is the official language of the world and the Christian Extremists are no more; probably died out in the floods.

2100- People like Living Underwater! Homes are attached underwater to the edge of the Antarctican continent. It is now world's fastest growing city surpassing Sahara.

2107- A Small Step Forward: Purebreds try to reintegrate into society again.

2112- Buy You Own Transporter: Teleportation portals for the home are now available so the humans just waking up from their VR hibernation can get anywhere they need to.

2115- Weather Control: The Androids learn how to control the weather with computers

2120- Complete Technological Education Reform: Computing is largest and most respected field on the planet as children need to learn how to communicate with the AI system using their minds. They need to learn how to upload files so that their neuro- processors can implant them into their mind. This makes learning how to ride a bike or calculus simple.

2130- Body Farms: Don’t like your body? Get a new one! The Brain Network has allowed certain rich investors to develop and fund a body farm. These bodies can be created to have all different features and you can start your new life at whatever stage you want!

2140- Rain forest Destroyed: The Amazon rain forest has disappeared completely

2145- Wormhole Technology Tested: Development of Wormhole technological breakthroughs has allowed the interplanetary ships to be equipped with a portable device. Since humans have settled on every single available body in the solar system the first interstellar spaceflight will be conducted in 2160! These spaceships are fueled by nuclear energy and solar winds. AI controls the space crafts and is protected by GC created force fields.

2150- Fusion Power: Fusion is the word now! Many things on Earth are run on Fusion technology. The Androids decided that the old barriers put in place to control nuclear energy were not working too well with age old equipment and they needed a new power supply.

2155- Portable Replicators: Food and item replicators are available for the home.

2160- Hover Cities: Many cities are being resurrected taking on names like New York2 and New London. These new cities are completely controlled by the AI and Green systems. The cities can be built on top of the old cities and easily taken down if another natural disaster were to occur.

2177- Space Resource Wars: Resource wars wage on in space as many colonies battle against each other for resources. There may be peace on Earth but it could be another 100 years before there is peace in the solar system

2179- 100 Years of Peace: Due to the advancements in replicators and laser, and nano technology disease, poverty, and hunger have disappeared off the face of the Earth! Humanity is realizing that a Utopian society here on Earth is quietly becoming a reality.

2185- Antimatter: Antimatter looks like it could be the next source of energy. Antimatter will become the next energy source as production gets valuable and marketable.

2199- The GC Space Station: The world’s first space habitat and research station is now floating above central Africa in its own orbit around the Earth. A new Science station will be created near Jupiter for use with the outer system.

More to Come.....

Do you have to make so many different threads? Why not just start a blog or something and post the link to that? This is just spamming up the board.

It would be a very very long post if i did that. Fictional Future Needs some posts anyway. It's tied for dead last in posts, so I don't see how ten more posts could hurt.

It doesn't matter if it's one long post, it is much more cleaner than having a bunch of threads seemingly carrying the same train of thought.

Not gonna happen. Antimatter may be ultimate fuel for spacesships, but it won't be source of energy on any planet as efficiency will never breach 50%. you need 2kg worthof enery to get 1kg of anitmatter.

Rockets to Saturn Man on Mars.

But, but... we've had rockets to Saturn... there was Pioneer 11, Voyager 1, Voyager 2, and Cassini is there right now...

Cool idea. It'd be kinda like an underwater city.

2140- Rain forest Destroyed: The Amazon rain forest has disappeared completely

What would you say is still destroying the rainforest after all these years of peace, weather control, and social change? I would have thought we would have put a stop to it.

That's the least of your complaints? What about soul hopping into other dimensions in the afterlife or a fucking Jupiter colony? You know, the Jupiter that's made of GAS. The one you can't actually LAND ON.

Jupiter has countless moons that future human society could land on, and the first colony set up there might be named after the place. Liberals think that the Amazon rain forest destruction has already taken more damage than it can take on to survive... We might need resources there for some countries that don't want to adapt to the replicator for w/e reason. Try thinking outside of the box before criticizing me at every chance you get. I guess your not a fan of scifi though.

Then why don't you say a Jupiter MOON colony. Secondly, don't use the word "liberals" as if it's some pejorative homogeneous association. Thirdly, there is no relation between the Amazon rain forest and molecular assembly. Fourthly, there are no resources on Jupiter's moons and even if there were it'd be too inefficient to get our raw resources there (what you would do is light a fusion torch and dump any worthless matter (like garbage) into it which would be so hot that it would break up all molecules into individual atoms and then you get all elements 1 - 92 that way). Fifthly, I really like science fiction, but you're suggesting this is possible. Mass Effect doesn't go "this may happen you never know!!!!"

well, liberals are the ones shouting we need to save the rain forest so idk why I can't say the word liberal when I have been called much much worse on this forum. I think you read my post wrong. Countries not wanting to adapt to the replication process may want to use pure non-nanotechnology based resources and that is what might cause the Rain Forest to be destroyed. Rain Forest has resources, I never said anything about Jupiter's moons having resources. We would just land there for the hell of it, like we did back in the world exploration days here on earth. All science fiction has a bit of science in it!!!

The rain forest has as much potential molecular assembly resources as a pile of garbage as big as the rain forest.

This isn't for the replicators though, this is for people who would want to cut down the rain forest exactly as we're doing today, IDK call them the tea party of the future. They don't want to rely on the replication process to create their goods.

I seriously doubt that. Goods would be hundreds to thousands to millions times cheaper using molecular assembly depending on the product.

One of the cases made by Neo-Luddites is that our technology is ruining the environment. I doubt that anyone would make the case that we should ruin the environment.

They never say they should, they just DO! Ok then call them Amish of the future. Since Amish is a way of life and it isn't a religion it would still be considered legal. It would be against the Amish to make all their supplies using nanotechnology. Brazil has a huge amount of oil trapped underneath the rain forest as well, so that could be a factor.

Update time

2011- 2015

2011- Commercial Space Flight becomes affordable: Private Space tourism companies just announced a new trip into space which will cost $50,000.00!

end of 2011- Smart TVs: Most Televisions in the home are now Smart Internet connected TVs with many features. Many smartphones are adapting advanced wireless techniques to remain constantly connected to all your media content on the go.

2012- College Working Class Emerges: As start ups bloom again in Silicon Valley and more young people start their own companies without traditional educations many wonder if this is a new class of people

2012- Climate Change Debate Heats Up--Again: A group of “Climateers” is making news all across the globe. While the, “Global Climate Change” debate rages on they vow to not use anything that has been created by destructive force. They believe in the three basic necessities of life food, water, and shelter. They live out in the woods and attend political rallies; The Hippie comeback?

Dec 21, 2012: No! It's not the end of the world, but that didn't stop mass suicides, looting, and increasing religious gatherings throughout the world. It becomes the biggest media event in the world crashing both Facebook and Twitter servers as people say Sayonara

2013- Obama Secures Second Term: Republicans outraged as Obama barely secures second White House Term. Partially due to his 'contacts.'

2013- Microsoft comeback: WP7 and Windows 8 dominate in record breaking sales; Microsoft once again is the world's most powerful computer company! Much to Apple's disappointment and especially after the death of their beloved Steve Jobs.

2013- Death of the DVD: With files rapidly streaming from just about any mobile device one can think of, Hollywood is reconsidering their strategy when it comes to DVD marketing and is moving towards instant streaming services for Apple TV, Netflix and other providers. TVs and Desktop computers are also hurting in sales.

End of 2013 RFID Reigns: Shopping Retails in large cities across the world have implemented the next stage in RFID technology. Now that most people have smartphones and mobile payments, the groceries are instantly updated on the phone scanned via RFID and paid instantly without checking out. Airlines and other stores will soon get rid of their cashiers as well.

2014- Iran gains full Nuclear Status: North Korea not far behind; Russian tensions rise..

2014- The Underground Body Part Movement: Body Parts easily replaced through stem cell research programs, and body harvesting is a new international underground! The gangs sell the body parts to people in third world countries who cannot afford the technology or rising cost of basic health care.

2015: Telsa Creates new form of Hydrogen: Telsa a company that has been researching the future of the automobile for awhile now, has come up with a better solution than electronic cars. This process combines electric, hydrogen, and the use of gasoline as well. Electric charging stations and now Hydrogen ones are popping up all over the place. Hybrid Conversion now available at your local Auto Repair Shop!

2015: Facebook Announces Lifestream: "Always be with your friends." That's the new slogan behind Facebook's new feature. It is a new form of social networking which is bound to leave Reality TV in the dust! LifeStream is a new feature on Facebook where friends can follow you live, in real time, on video! Small cameras connected to city free city wifi follow your every move. The privacy debate rages on.

More to come........

No on affordable space flight quite just yet. They're still going for $250.000, but we have http://www.telegraph...ism-begins.html

No to smart TVs in 2011 but they definitely have entered the mainstream en masse so 2014 is its mainstream saturation point

The college working class thing is just not happening

Neo hippies? Haven't seen them because modern technology is just too attractive

Obviously Obama won and it's actually led to the Republicans losing power

Microsoft is still as middle-upper ground as well. Windows 8 was a disaster

DVDs are still around but barely. Archival disks are soon to be the new big thing and blu rays are soon to be the new DVDs

RFID hasn't taken off. If anything it's stagnated.

Iran did not. Stuxnet is probably to credit/blame.

I don't know if this one was true, but something's telling me "stem cell grown body parts do not compose a large sector of the black market"

I don't even know how to respond to this one. If you mean they're creating a new form of hydrogen fuel cells, maybe that's possible, but I think we're stuck with the forms of hydrogen we have now and have had for billions of years for a good long time.

Can't answer that last one obviously, but it's certainly possible with the Oculus Rift, some AR glasses, and drones to even see what your friends are seeing from their perspective!

When you say "this is overrated" do you mean "I think this sucks?"

When you say "the majority hate it" do you mean "I hate it?"
