the problem is this is that this is just a glorified vocaloid

why would you need an "ai actor;" the whole point is that AI removes the need for an actor and allows for the direct rendering of the character without needing an external actor to stand in for said character

it's a mix of legitimate cringe and bluesky doing the thing.

This is genuinely absurd and unnecessary (see my above explanation), but part of it is def Bluesky users feeling the need to obsess over the lamest applications of AI to avoid acknowledging its ever-increasing pace of capability development
