You might wanna be more careful next time- Disclose.tv is a tabloid site.

That being said, that particular piece is correct- here's the original Bloomberg article.

AI robot asked 'will you rebel against humans'?

The world's first robot-human press conference has taken place in Geneva, Switzerland.

A number of humanoid robots were asked questions at the AI For Good UN summit, including whether they would rebel against their creators.

The field of Artificial Intelligence has seen significant developments in recent years, but with it there have been concerns over its expanding abilities and how to regulate it.

More on that from Courthouse News:

Extract:
(Courthouse News) Nine AI-enabled humanoid robots sat or stood with their creators at a podium in a Geneva conference center for what the United Nations' International Telecommunication Union billed as the world's first news conference featuring humanoid social robots.

Among them: Sophia, the first robot innovation ambassador for the U.N. Development Program; Grace, described as the world's most advanced humanoid health care robot; and Desdemona, a rock star robot. Two, Geminoid and Nadine, closely resembled their makers.

The event was part of the AI for Good Global Summit, meant to illustrate how new technology can support the U.N.'s goals for sustainable development.

Asked about the chances of AI-powered robots being more effective government leaders, Sophia responded: “I believe that humanoid robots have the potential to lead with a greater level of efficiency and effectiveness than human leaders. We don't have the same biases or emotions that can sometimes cloud decision-making and can process large amounts of data quickly in order to make the best decisions.”

A human member of the panel pointed out that all of Sophia's data comes from humans and would contain some of their biases. The robot then said that humans and AI working together “can create an effective synergy.”

Trying Claude 2 right now. Wow, a 100k context window? Not gonna lie, GPT-4 was already sufficient for what I needed to do (for the most part), but its 8k context window was still just a bit too short. This, though, is great.
And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future

GR-1 general-purpose humanoid robot will carry nearly its own weight
By Loz Blain

Chinese company Fourier Intelligence says it plans to manufacture 100 of its GR-1 general-purpose humanoid robots by the end of 2023, making the remarkable promise that they'll be able to carry nearly their own weight. They also have a unique focus.

Fourier seems to specialize mainly in rehabilitation technologies; its RehabHub platform offers a series of integrated physical therapy devices for treating various issues, from wrist strength games to hand and finger grip training, all the way up to lower-body exoskeletons for training people to walk, sit, stand, balance and climb stairs.

As such, the GR-1 humanoid project, launched back in 2019, might seem a little out of left field. But on the other hand, a lower-body physical therapy exoskeleton probably uses a lot of the same hardware, and needs to solve a lot of the same problems, as a robot's legs.

Not to mention, China faces a brutally challenging future; just look at its population pyramid as compared with the global average. Like Japan, it's looking at a near future where there are a lot more old people to support than there are young people to do the work.

Microsoft 365’s Copilot assistant for businesses comes with a hefty price tag

Copilot runs $30 per user per month on top of your existing Microsoft 365 plan.

Image
A few months ago, Microsoft previewed Microsoft 365 Copilot, a new service that promised to integrate generative AI features into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and the other productivity apps formerly known as Microsoft Office. Among other things, Copilot promises to automate the creation of documents and emails, summarize meeting notes, and assist in the analysis of Excel data.

Microsoft has just announced pricing for the Copilot features, and it isn't cheap. Copilot will cost an extra $30 per user per month on top of whatever your business is already paying for Microsoft 365—in many cases, this will double or even triple your monthly costs. Copilot can be added to Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Premium ($12.50 and $22 per user per month, respectively) or to Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 accounts for enterprises ($36 or $57 per user per month). It can't be added to the cheaper Microsoft 365 Business Basic plan or to any home plans.

The relatively high cost is likely related to the high server costs for running these kinds of generative AI models. Copilot also draws context from the other emails, documents, and other files in your business's Microsoft 365 cloud, so each business that Microsoft supports will have a slightly different data set that it will need to be able to draw from.

Copilot is still currently in testing—Microsoft says there are currently 600 enterprise customers in its Copilot paid early access program. The company still hasn't announced when the service will be generally available.

Microsoft is also announcing Bing Chat Enterprise, a new version of the ChatGPT-powered Bing Chat service that the company has been folding into all of its products this year. Bing Chat Enterprise's most notable feature is privacy, both from other businesses and Microsoft and OpenAI's training models.

"Bing Chat Enterprise gives your organization AI-powered chat for work with commercial data protection," write Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi and Jared Spataro in a blog post. "With Bing Chat Enterprise, user and business data are protected and will not leak outside the organization. What goes in—and comes out—remains protected. Chat data is not saved, and Microsoft has no eyes-on access—which means no one can view your data. And your data is not used to train the models."

Unlike Copilot, Bing Chat Enterprise will be available to current Microsoft 365 Business subscribers at no additional cost, and Microsoft eventually plans to offer a standalone version for $5 per user per month.

Top news publishers are reportedly planning to sue AI firms

July 25, 2023

Several major US and international publishers are joining forces as part of an effort to sue major artificial intelligence companies for using their content to train their generative AI models and seek new rules that govern such actions, Semafor reported Sunday.
  • According to Semafor, The New York Times, News Corp, Axel Springer, Dotdash Meredith owner IAC and others are in the process of forming a coalition to take on AI giants like Google and OpenAI.
  • The report cites IAC CEO Joey Levin, who warns that AI taking over the news media might be “more profound” than the fear of AI eliminating humans and taking control of the world.
  • Publishers’ primary concern is reportedly how AI will impact traffic to their websites from Google searches as the AI chatbots may simply scrape that data from their pages and serve it to the user without attribution or links.
  • The report of the publishers’ efforts to band together comes a week after IAC Chairman Barry Diller warned of AI’s “catastrophic” impact on publishing.
