If the institutions were functioning properly it wouldn't matter what antivaxxers think. There would have been effective track and trace within weeks of the initial intelligence reports from the US department of Defense in November of 2019. Moreover consumer and non-essential industry air travel would have been halted until covid was wholly contained. Quarantines would have been enforced, sanitation measures would have been taken at all ports of entry for people and freight. Disinformation warfare would have been snuffed out and the corporations and state actors sabotaging our culture would have persecuted or otherwise combatted.

Instead the CDC has spent the past 2 and a half years changing its story and outright spreading disinformation itself on multiple occasions as it has been turned into a political tool, not a scientific organization. It's not just the antivaxxers, there are systemic political and economic problems underlying the structure of western "democracies" and the CDC's absolute dysfunction, along with the dysfunction of many countries public health authorities, is a symptom of those underlying systemic problems.

The order of events as I remember it in the US in terms of government and institutional narrative.

"COVID is a public health emergency but don't panic. Also if you have covid symptoms the health infrastructure may gaslight you for a while until we fully recognize the threat, like it does with monkeypox victims today."
"Don't panic but we need to social distance for a few weeks, the virus is airborne and spreads on surfaces, wear a mask and limit interaction to your family unit unless you are essential personal."
"Keep wearing a mask but we're not going to enforce social distancing at all."
"We're working on a vaccine, we'll have to wear masks until the vaccine is deployed, but we won't effectively enforce mask wearing at all."
"The vaccine is here, until enough people take it we still have to mask."
"The vaccine is working, covid is disappearing, this will surely be the last wave, soon everything can go back to normal."
"We won America, covid is barely spreading and over half the country is vaccinated, feel free to take your masks off."
"Covid is spreading but we aren't going to do anything more than what we're already doing, wear a mask if you want to. Also, you only have to quarantine for 5 days now even though the scientific community knows that covid's incubation period can range from a few days all the way to 20+ days in outlier cases"
"Covid is spreading and causing long covid, vaccination doesn't protect against long covid in all cases, or even most cases upon subsequent infection, we don't care at all, no public health measures will be taken. Also, covid may or may not even spread on surfaces."
"Healthcare workers can come into work with covid if they are asymptomatic, if they are symptomatic they are expected to return to work as soon as they are feeling better."
"No one quarantines anymore, no one cares, we don't either, **** you"

Listeria Outbreak In Florida Leaves 22 Hospitalized And One Dead
by Dr. Becky Corkill
July 1, 2022

Introduction:
(IFL Science) The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued an investigation notice into a Listeria outbreak in Florida. This outbreak has so far caused 22 hospitalizations and one death. No specific food item has been identified as the source and most people who fell ill lived in or traveled to Florida a month before they got sick.

The illness was first reported on January 24, 2021, through to June 12, 2022. It is thought that the true number of people who have been infected is a lot higher, and any recent cases may not yet be recorded due to the potentially long incubation time and the time it takes to identify when people are part of the outbreak.

So, what is Listeria?

Listeria infection is caused by a germ called Listeria monocytogenes, and people often get sick within two weeks of eating food contaminated with the bacteria. For this outbreak, it is unclear whether there is a specific food item that is linked to these cases.

A Rampant Explosive Gastrointestinal Illness Has Been Hitting The Grand Canyon
by Beccy Corkill
June 30, 2022

Introduction:
(IFL Science)The Grand Canyon in Arizona and is home to one of the most magnificent examples of erosion found anywhere in the world. But now according to a recent report, it is also home to a gastrointestinal illness that has been devastating over 150 back-country campers and private and river rafters so far this year.

The illness has symptoms that are consistent with norovirus, including nausea, stomach cramping/pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. Norovirus has been confirmed in at least eight rafting trips.

The National Park Service has been working with the Coconino County Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to monitor and investigate the situation. Since early June, there have been comprehensive control measures that have seen a decrease in reports of the illness.

Norovirus is a very contagious disease and outbreaks are common, although typically it is not life-threatening. The virus normally spreads through contaminated food and surfaces and also from infected people to others. Unfortunately for the Grand Canyon visitors, the norovirus can spread easily on rafts and in camps – due to people being all squished up in communal areas and on group trips, and a lack of easily accessible washing facilities.
Infection with this virus is not a pleasant experience, especially on a campsite when you are far away from shiny, washable modern toilets that have the comforts needed when your body is being violently flushed out from both ends. Symptoms also tend to last around 1-3 days.

Well, that sucks. I won't say why that happens but will say that is partly why such shouldn't happen.

It is weird how for about 40 years we stopped nearly all global outbreaks outside of the flu and now we're having multiple outbreaks. Could it be that our medical tech is failing us? At some kind of evolutionary level.
