The Elon Musk Thread
Re: The Elon Musk Thread
At some point, either Tesla's board or Elon Musk will be forced to make a decision.
To know is essentially the same as not knowing. The only thing that occurs is the rearrangement of atoms in your brain.

Aged like wine
Re: The Elon Musk Thread
I want to see Tesla fail, Musk and the Tate brothers are really the only successful people I hate. That said Telsa is still going strong I want to provide the odd update tracking the companies downfall, right now I think people are acting like the company has failed too early.
The typical growth rate of the SNP500 is 10% and I presume by the time Tesla went public in mid 2010 the impact of who leads the company was effectively just from Musk by this point. You can grab these stats by google searching Tesla stock.
Performance over past year = +29.71% vs typical 10%
Performcance over past 5 years =+532.75% vs typical 61.05%
Performance since made public aprox 15 years ago +14,413.67% vs typical 417.72%
I do think Tesla is over inflated to an extreme degree and it's real value (not inflated) may also be on decline due to Musks actions and EV's being produced elsewhere.
It's going to take a lot more stock bleeding for numbers to reflect under performance.
I guess I will share current stock stats like this again in a month or so.

Can't say it's going back to its real value- people just dumping their Teslas is hurting the company a lot.

Tesla owners are rebranding their cars to 'avoid vandalism'
Mar 11, 2025
Tesla owners are getting creative in protecting their cars from potential vandalism and backlash from Elon Musk's antics by slapping new logos on their rides. The latest trend? Rebranding their Teslas with stickers of different car manufacturers.
Photos of Teslas sporting these new logos, including Audi and Mazda, have been circulating on social media, with some users speculating that owners are using the stickers as a way to avoid negative attention or damage to their vehicles.
One notable example sees a Cybertruck being slapped with a huge Toyota badge – because putting a sticker on a car that's already been mistaken for a dumpster is going to help it blend in.
Inevitably, reactions came in thick and fast, with one writing: "Some Tesla owners appear to be rebranding their cars. What have you done to your own brand, Elon?"

Teslas Torched at Las Vegas Facility in ‘Targeted Attack’
March 18, 2025
Several Teslas were shot at and torched at a Las Vegas facility in what authorities have described as a “targeted attack.”
The incident occurred at a Tesla Collision Center at around 2:45 Tuesday morning, March 18, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement. A suspect, reportedly wearing all black, damaged five vehicles, including two that were “fully engulfed by fire,” the police said. They also believe the suspect fired at least three rounds from a firearm at the vehicles.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze after arriving at the facility. One “un-detonated” incendiary device (believed to be a Molotov cocktail) was found inside one vehicle.
The suspect also spray-painted the word “Resist” across the front of the building, though police have not explicitly said yet whether or not they think the attack was politically motivated. Tesla founder Elon Musk has, of course, been working closely with President Donald Trump to gut the federal government and the many services it provides under the guise of his so-called Department of Government Efficiency.
The LVMPD did not specifically say whether or not the incident is being investigated as an act of domestic terrorism, though LVMPD Counter-Terrorism detectives did respond to the scene. The FBI is also helping to investigate the incident. The bureau’s Las Vegas office did not immediately return a request for comment, nor did Tesla.

Tesla removed from Vancouver Auto Show
Published: March 18, 2025 at 7:10PM EDT
Tesla has been removed from the Vancouver Auto Show on the eve of the event, organizers announced Tuesday.
Elon Musk’s company will no longer be an exhibitor and all references to Tesla have been removed from the show’s website, a move that comes as the billionaire faces backlash for his alliance with President Donald Trump amid a trade war between Canada and the U.S.
“The Vancouver International Auto Show has removed Tesla as a participant in this week’s event, after the automaker was provided multiple opportunities to voluntarily withdraw,” said Eric Nicholl, the show’s executive director, in a statement.
“The Vancouver Auto Show’s primary concern is the safety of attendees, exhibitors, and staff. This decision will ensure all attendees can be solely focused on enjoying the many positive elements of the event.”
The annual convention starts Wednesday and runs through the weekend.
